Quality Policy:

Foster’s quality policy sets the tone for ensuring a culture of excellence and an environment for continuous improvement. The policy is, “To become the industry quality leader in the design and manufacture of critical polymers and compounds by providing our customers with defect-free, cost effective, highly engineered materials in a timely manner through the continuous improvement of processes which constitute the Foster Corporation Quality System”.

Quality Assurance:

Foster takes pride in developing and implementing planned and systematic activities in their quality system giving both Foster and their customer’s confidence that quality requirements for a product or service will be fulfilled. This pride is more than obvious in Foster’s (12) plus years of maintaining ISO 9001-2000 certifications (ANAB and UKAS) at their East and West facilities. This level of confidence is also evident in Foster’s constant receipt of high customer audit scores. These metrics of outstanding quality performance serve to validate Foster’s position as the industry quality leader.

Quality Control:

Foster instills observation techniques and activities designed to exceed internal and external requirements for quality. From incoming inspection through in process audits to finished good analysis, Foster’s control activities are outstanding. The well trained, ASQ (American Society for Quality) certified quality professionals perform a battery of evaluations and analysis to determine capability, control and disposition. This commitment to excellence is evident in the use of the ASTM test methods- real time data acquisition and analysis. In addition, the use of an electronic CAPA database system facilitates as needed corrective and preventive responses. These activities offer stability and guidance to Foster and their customers with the knowledge that all products are delivered by processes in which variability is at a minimum and deviation is identifiable.

Quality Commitment:

It is easy to understand what drives Foster to such a highly valued level of quality. With a policy of such magnitude, Foster requires a personal commitment from each employee, that quality is indeed “everyone’s responsibility”. With assurances recognized by the Biotechnology community, ISO and their customer’s, Foster expresses their commitment and ownership to quality at each opportunity. Finally, with use of proper quality techniques and activities Foster is able to demonstrate control not only of its process and products but of it’s commitment as well. Foster’s commitment to quality is recognized and summarized with the simple statement, “Exhaust all Efforts to Exceed all Expectations”.
